Discover Limestone Canyon at Twilight
Roam the Canyon with Nocturnal Animals
Get your heart pumping as the sun sets in Limestone Canyon. Join us on Tuesday, December 30th at 3 p.m. for this intense, three and a half hour, ten mile trek. Burn off those extra holiday pounds as you explore this beautiful area at dusk. Make sure to keep an eye out for nocturnal creatures such as owls or coyotes.
Limestone is known for its beautiful geological formations - including an unusual formation called "the Sinks" - plus a rich diversity of flora and fauna, which make the canyon a favorite among hikers, mountain bikers and naturalists.
This was the location of last October's Santiago Fire. Along the trail, you'll pass through coastal sage scrub, grasslands, and oak woodlands that have recovered well. Be prepared for multiple steep climbs and descents at a quick pace for the entire length, with very limited stops. If you are in great physical shape and ready to walk the entire length without stopping then this program is for you. Be ready to move and don’t forget to bring flashlights as it will be dark.
