Kimberlee Staff
Kimberlee has been a docent for nine years having originally started with TNC and now works with the Irvine Ranch Conservancy. She is an outdoor enthusiast and avid mountain biker. Kimberlee enjoys discovering the wildlands and parks on The Irvine Ranch as she quenches her thirst for speed on her mountain bike.
"I have always loved nature, but have more of an appreciation since I ride so much. There is always something great to see, no matter where you are,” says Kimberlee. “I love the natural sounds of nature including birds singing or simply hearing the grass sway in the breeze. It’s great therapy to get away from the daily, hectic world and escape to the wildlands on The Irvine Ranch. Just me, my bike and nature."
Kimberlee volunteers because she loves the land and enjoys meeting great, new people with a similar passion for the outdoors. She also likes to see how the land has evolved over the years and from one season to the next. Her commitment to the land is unwavering and she takes pride in the fact that nearly 40,000 acres of open space have been designated a Natural Landmark by both the State of California and the U.S. Department of Interior.
Her entire family, including her husband, John, and young boys, Ian and Andrew are all hikers and enjoy the land regularly. In addition to her love for the outdoors, Kimberlee also loves animals, and has two cats, two California desert tortoises, a bearded dragon and a tarantula.
Kimberlee graduated from Marquette University and has a BS in dental hygiene/biology. She also received her MBA with an emphasis in healthcare from UCI. Her hobbies include reading, birding, needlepoint and photography.
