LANDMARK STEWARDSHIP
As vast as it is beautiful, the wildlands and parks comprise more than half of the historic 93,000-acre Irvine Ranch. Approximately 37,000 acres have been designated a National Natural Landmark. It is home to hundreds of species of native plants and animals, and features terrain including rugged mountains, rolling grasslands, shady oak woodlands, and sandy beaches. The Irvine Ranch Conservancy works with landowners and other partners to help care for these lands. The Conservancy focuses on two priorities: planning and managing the long term preservation of native habitats and species, and bringing people and nature together through public access, education and other programs.
